Commencement Proclamation
under the
Transport Legislation Amendment Act 2011 No 41
THOMAS FREDERICK BATHURST, Administrator I, the Honourable Thomas Frederick Bathurst, Administrator of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Transport Legislation Amendment Act 2011, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 November 2011 as the day on which the following provisions of that Act commence:
| (a) | Schedule 1 [1]–[41], [43]–[52], [53] (except to the extent that it inserts clause 5 of Schedule 1 to the Transport Administration Act 1988) and [54]–[65], |
| (b) | Schedule 2, |
| (c) | Schedule 5.1–5.37, 5.38 [1]–[5], [7] and [8] and 5.39–5.61. |

| Explanatory note |
The object of this Proclamation is to commence provisions of the Transport Legislation
Amendment Act 2011 that:
| (a) | specify the common objectives and service delivery priorities of public transport agencies, and |

| (b) | establish Transport for NSW and Roads and Maritime Services and confer functions on them, and |
| (c) | abolish the Roads and Traffic Authority and the Maritime Authority of NSW, and |
| (d) | establish the Transport Service as the employment entity for certain transport staff, and |
| (e) | alter provisions for the transfer of staff between public transport agencies, and |
| (f) | amend the obligation of a railway network controller to give priority to railway passenger services, and |
| (g) | make consequential amendments. |
