Commencement Proclamation

under the

Children Legislation Amendment (Wood Inquiry
Recommendations) Act 2009 No 13

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Children Legislation Amendment (Wood Inquiry Recommendations) Act 2009, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 11 February 2011 as the day on which Schedule 3.1 [2], [3] and [11]–[17] to that Act commence.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence amendments made by the Children Legislation Amendment (Wood Inquiry Recommendations) Act 2009 to the Commission for Children and Young People Act 1998 in connection with the transfer of functions of the Commission for Children and Young People in relation to the Child Death Review Team, to the NSW Ombudsman.
