Commencement Proclamation

under the

Court Security Amendment Act 2011 No 15

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Court Security Amendment Act 2011, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 12 August 2011 as the day on which that Act (except Schedule 1 [9] and [11]) commences.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the Court Security Amendment Act 2011, except for the provisions of that Act that amend the Court Security Act 2005 to extend the powers of arrest of court security officers to persons who are committing, or who have just committed, acts of violence towards other persons in court premises.
