Commencement Proclamation

under the

Crimes (Sentencing Procedure) Amendment Act 2010 No 136

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (1) of the Crimes (Sentencing Procedure) Amendment Act 2010, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 14 March 2011 as the day on which the uncommenced provisions of that Act commence.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the provisions of the Crimes (Sentencing

Procedure) Amendment Act 2010 which:

(a)

amend the Crimes (Administration of Sentences) Act 1999 in relation to the matters considered by the parole authority in making parole orders, and

(b)

make miscellaneous amendments to the Crimes (Sentencing Procedure) Act 1999, including amendments relating to aggregate sentencing.
