Commencement Proclamation

under the

Crimes Amendment (Child Pornography and Abuse Material) Act
2010 No 9

JAMES JACOB SPIGELMAN, Lieutenant-Governor I, the Honourable James Jacob Spigelman AC, Lieutenant-Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Crimes Amendment (Child Pornography and Abuse Material) Act 2010, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 17 September 2010 as the day on which the uncommenced provisions of that Act commence.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the provisions of the Crimes Amendment (Child Pornography and Abuse Material) Act 2010 that did not commence on the date of assent to that Act. The provisions that commenced on the date of assent relate to the extension of protections afforded to complainants in sexual offence cases.
