Commencement Proclamation

under the

Electricity and Gas Supply Legislation Amendment (Retail Price
Disclosures and Comparisons) Act 2010

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Electricity and Gas Supply Legislation Amendment (Retail Price Disclosures and Comparisons) Act 2010, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 2010 as the day on which that Act commences except for the following provisions:

(a)

Schedule 1.1 [1] to the extent that it inserts section 181A (3) and (4) (c) of the Electricity Supply Act 1995,

(b)

Schedule 1.2 [1] to the extent that it inserts section 76A (3) and (4) (c) of the Gas Supply Act 1996.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence all the provisions of the Electricity and Gas Supply Legislation Amendment (Retail Price Disclosures and Comparisons) Act 2010 other than provisions that require the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal to publish electricity and gas retail pricing information on its website and provisions that require the websites of retail suppliers of electricity and suppliers of natural gas to contain a link to that website.
