Commencement Proclamation

under the

Credit (Commonwealth Powers) Act 2010 No 6

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Credit (Commonwealth Powers) Act 2010, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 April 2010 as the day on which that Act (other than Schedules 1–3) commences.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the provisions of the Credit (Commonwealth Powers) Act 2010 that refer to the Commonwealth Parliament certain matters relating to credit and other financial transactions. The provisions of that Act that repeal existing consumer credit legislation, and that provide for transitional arrangements consequential on that repeal, will commence separately.
