Commencement Proclamation

under the

Fines Further Amendment Act 2008 No 110

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (1) of the Fines Further Amendment Act 2008, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 9 March 2009 as the day on which Schedule 2.3 and 2.4 to that Act commence.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence Schedule 2.3 and 2.4 to the Fines Further Amendment Act 2008. Those provisions amend the Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Act 1998 and the Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Regulation 2008 to create separate offences in relation to suspended or cancelled driver licences where the suspension or cancellation occurs under section 66 of the Fines Act 1996.
