Commencement Proclamation

under the

NSW Lotteries (Authorised Transaction) Act 2009 No 60

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the NSW Lotteries (Authorised Transaction) Act 2009, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 2 October 2009 as the day on which that Act commences, except for the following provisions:

(a)	section 27,
(b)	Schedule 5.1 [1]–[13] and [15]–[17] and 5.2.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence all the provisions of the NSW Lotteries

(Authorised Transaction) Act 2009 (the Act) with the exception of the following:

(a)	certain provisions that amend the Public Lotteries Act 1996 in respect of licensing the conduct of public lotteries in New South Wales following the transfer of New South Wales Lotteries Corporation assets as authorised under the Act,
(b)	a provision that presently constitutes that Corporation as a statutory State owned corporation,
(c)	a provision that repeals the New South Wales Lotteries Corporatisation Act 1996.
