Commencement Proclamation

under the

Motor Accidents Compensation Amendment Act 2009 No 26

JAMES JACOB SPIGELMAN, Lieutenant-Governor I, the Honourable James Jacob Spigelman AC, Lieutenant-Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Motor Accidents Compensation Amendment Act 2009, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 2009 as the day on which the following provisions of that Act commence:

(a)	sections 1 and 2,
(b)	Schedule 1 [2], [8]–[11] and [13]–[15].

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the provisions of the Motor Accidents Compensation Amendment Act 2009 that extend the bulk billing arrangements under the Motor Accidents Compensation Act 1999 to all injured persons and that allow the variation of the period in respect of which contributions to the Motor Accidents Authority Fund are to be determined.
