Commencement Proclamation

under the

Courts and Crimes Legislation Further Amendment Act 2008
No 107

JAMES JACOB SPIGELMAN, Lieutenant-Governor I, the Honourable James Jacob Spigelman AC, Lieutenant-Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Courts and Crimes Legislation Further Amendment Act 2008, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 7 April 2009 as the day on which the following provisions of that Act commence:

(a) section 4,
(b) Schedules 14 [1]–[8] and [10]–[15], 19, 22 and 29.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence certain provisions of the Courts and Crimes Legislation Further Amendment Act 2008 that abolish Wardens’ Courts and that effect the transfer to the Land and Environment Court of the jurisdiction currently conferred on wardens and Wardens’ Courts by the Mining Act 1992 and the Petroleum (Onshore) Act 1991.
