Commencement Proclamation
under the
Marine Safety Amendment Act 2008 No 59
JAMES JACOB SPIGELMAN, Lieutenant-Governor I, the Honourable James Jacob Spigelman AC, Lieutenant-Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Marine Safety Amendment Act 2008, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 30 March 2009 as the day on which Schedule 1 [13], [15], [17]–[19], [23], [24], [29] and [34]–[39] to that Act commence.

| Explanatory note |
The object of this Proclamation is to commence amendments made to the Marine Safety Act
1998 by the Marine Safety Amendment Act 2008 that deal with the following matters:
| (a) | removing provisions relating to surveyor’s accreditation and accredited surveyors, |
| (b) | fees and charges payable in relation to marine safety licences, |
| (c) | general provisions relating to marine safety licences, |
| (d) | exemptions from registration requirements for certain vessels, |
| (e) | offences relating to the operation of vessels, |

| (f) | qualifying certain exemptions from holding a boat driving licence, |
