An Act for the Restriction of Coloured Immigration.

This Act may be cited as | The Coloured Immigration Restric- |
tion Act."
Coloured immigrants " includes all persons of coloured race, and their descendants, inhabiting the continent of Asia or the continent of Africa, or any island adjacent thereto, or any island in the Pacific Ocean or Indian Ocean, not being natives of Australia, Tasmania, or New Zealand:
Immigration Restriction Acts " includes the (' Chinese Irnrni- gration Restriction Act, 1888," and all Acts incorporated therewith.

Army, native teachers, tourists, merchants, men of science ox students, and the wives and families of such persons, and also their domestic servants who are bearers of certificates of identity, specifying their occupation and their object in coming into South Australia, or of other similar documents issued by the Government whose subjects they are. Rvery such certificate or other document shall be in the English language, and shall be examined and indorsed by a British consul or other accredited representative of the British Government a t the place where the same is issued, or at the port or place of departure, and the above-rnentioncd Acts shall not prevent the landing of any of the officers or of the crew of any vessel duringher stay in any port of South Australia, subject to such regulations
ensuring the depdrture of all such officers and members of the crew
with their ship, as the Governor in Council may prescribe.
