COLONIAL LIGHT DUES COLLECTION.

 

No. 15 of 1934.

An Act to amend the Colonial Light Dues Collection Act 1932.

[Assented to 30th July, 1934.]

BE it enacted by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—

Short title and citation.

1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the Colonial Light Dues Collection Act 1934.

(2.) The Colonial Light Dues Collection Act 1932 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

(3.) The Principal Act, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the Colonial Light Dues Collection Act 1932-1934.

Application of Act.

2. Section two of the Principal Act is amended by omitting sub-sections (2.) and (3.).

3.After section four of the Principal Act the following section is inserted:—

Exemptions and remissions.

“4a. Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, exemptions from Colonial light dues,or remissions of the whole or part thereof, may be granted by the Collector of Customs for a State in circumstances similar to those under which the Board of Trade of the United Kingdom grant exemptions or remissions of light dues payable in the United Kingdom,”.
