Coff's Harbour Improvement Act 1913 (NSW)
Act No. 10, 1913.
An Act to sanction the construction of certain breakwaters and jetties, and the carrying out of certain dredging at Coff's Harbour; and for other purposes consequent thereon or incidental thereto. [15th October, 1913.]
to carry out a certain work, namely, improvements tc afford additional shipping facilities at Coff's Harbour : And whereas, on the passing of the said resolution, a statutory Assembly did by resolution declare tbat it was expedient WH E R E A S in accordance with the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1912, the Legislative
statutory duty was by the said Act imposed upon the Secretary for Public Works to introduce a Bill into the said Assembly to sanction the carrying out of the said work : Be it therefore enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1. This Act may be cited as the " Coff's Harbour Improvement Act, 1913."
2. The carrying out of the work, more particularly described in the Schedule to this Act, is hereby sanctioned, and the Secretary for Public Works, or the member of the Executive Council for the time being performing the duties of the said Secretary, is hereby authorised to undertake and carry out the said works, subject to the provisions of this Act, and for that purpose shall be and have the powers of a Constructing Authority within the meaning of the Public Works Act, 1912.
3 . The plan of the said works is the plan marked " Coff's Harbour " signed by the Secretary for Public Works, and countersigned by the Chief Engineer for Harbours and Water Supply, and deposited in the public office of the said Secretary.
4 . The cost of carrying out the said works, estimated at one hundred and ninety thousand pounds, may be defrayed from such loan votes as are now, or may hereafter be, applicable to the purpose, or from appro
| priations of the Public Works Fund, or partly from such | votes and partly from the said appropriations, and shall |
| not, under any circumstances exceed the estimated cost by more than ten per centum. |

THE construction of two breakwaters, the northern—commencing about
600 feet north of the shore end of the existing jetty and extending in a straight and curved line for about 3,050 feet to 'he western end of North CotTs or Mutton liird island; and the eastern, commencing at the northern shore of South C'oft's Island and extending for about 1,500 feet in a north-cast'-rlv direction.
Also the construction of two jetties, aggregating 1,300 feet long by SO feet wide, and the dredging of an area of about •">] acres to a depth of 30 feet at low water.The improvements are shown bv pink tint on the deposited plan, subject to such modifications as may be found necessary by the constructing authority.
