1  Name

This instrument is the Cocos (Keeling) Islands Utilities and Services (Vehicle Examination Fees) Amendment (2021 Measures No. 1) Determination 2021.

2  Commencement

(1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under paragraph 7(2)(a) of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands Utilities and Services Ordinance 2016.

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Cocos (Keeling) Islands Utilities and Services (Vehicle Examination Fees) Determination 2019

1  Subsection 5(1) (table items 1 to 4)

Repeal the items, substitute:

1	Heavy vehicle	(a) first examination—$220.50; (b) subsequent examination—$152.75
2	Trailer (without brakes), trailer derivative (without brakes), motor cycle, moped or motor carrier	(a) first examination—$151.60; (b) subsequent examination—$116
3	Vehicle not covered by table item 1 or 2	(a) first examination—$182.25; (b) subsequent examination—$116
4	Any vehicle covered by table item 1, 2 or 3	verifying the vehicle’s identity or specifications—$128.75

2  Subsection 5(2)

Omit “the date this instrument commences”, substitute “1 July 2021”.
