1990 - NO. 281
COAL MINES REGULATION ACT 1982 - REGULATION
(Relating to persons entitled to vote at an election
of a district check inspector)
NEW SOUTH WALES
[Published in Gazette No. 65 of 18 May 1990]
HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Coal Mines Regulation Act 1982, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.
NEIL PICKARD
Minister for Minerals and Energy.
The Coal Mines Regulation (Election of Check Inspectors, District Check Inspectors and Electrical Check Inspectors) Regulation 1984 is amended by omitting the words “Australian Coal and Shale Employees Federation" from clause 6 and by inserting instead the words "United Mineworkers Federation of Australia".
EXPLANATORY NOTE
Clause 6 of the Coal Mines Regulation (Election of Check Inspectors, District Check Inspectors and Electrical Check Inspectors) Regulation 1984 provides that the persons entitled to vote at an election of a district check inspector for a mine are
the persons employed in or about the mine who are members of the Australian Coal
and Shale Employees Federation.
That union has now amalgamated with the Federated Mining Mechanics Association to form the United Mineworkers Federation of Australia.
The object of this Regulation is to amend clause 6 so as to substitute the name of the new union for that of the old.
