Amendment Regulation 1997

Coal Mines Regulation Act 1982

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Coal Mines Regulation Act 1982.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to prescribe a fee of $100 to accompany an application for a permit for tourist activities or educational purposes under section 148 of the Coal Mines Regulation Act 1982. The fee payable under that section will also apply to similar permits granted under section 48C of the Mines Inspection Act 1901.

This Regulation is made in connection with the commencement of certain provisions of the Mining Legislation Amendment Act 1996 that amend the Coal Mines Regulation Act 1982 and the Mines Inspection Act 1901.

This Regulation is made under the Coal Mines Regulation Act 1982, including section 174 (the general regulation making power) and section

148.

Regulation 1997

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Coal Mines Regulation (General)

Amendment Regulation 1997.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 July 1997.

3     Amendment of Coal Mines Regulation (General) Regulation 1984

The Coal Mines Regulation (General) Regulation 1984 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

Clause 7

Insert after clause 6:

7 Fees for permits for tourist activities and educational

purposes: section 148

For the purposes of section 148 (1A) of the Act, the fee required to accompany an application for a permit under that section is $100.
