AN ACT to amend the Coal Mine Workers (Pensions)

Act, 1943-1971.

[Assented to 20th November, 1972.]

RE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent

Majesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative

Assembly of Western Australia, in this present

Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the

same, as follows:-

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Coal Mine Shalt tffie

Workers (Pensions) Act Amendment Act, 1972.

(2) In this Act the Coal Mine Workers (Pensions) 13:gpigvded

be cited as the Coal Mine Workers (Pensions) Act, of 1971.

Amendment

to section 2.	2. Subsection (1) of section 2 of the principal Act
(Inter-

pretations.) is amended

(a)	by deleting the word "and" at the end of paragraph (i) of the interpretation "Mine worker"; and
(b)	by adding after paragraph (j) of the interpretation "Mine worker" a passage as follows

and

(k) "Mine worker" also includes a person who is, for a period exceeding two months, employed in or about a coal mine in the State as a consultant to, or by a consultant to, the owner. .

Amendment

to section 9.	3. Section 9 of the principal Act is amended

5. Subsection(2) of section 21 of the principal tl;nE=,T,M.

Act is amended by adding after paragraph (e) a 12,?astru- paragraph as follows—

(ea) Contributions in respect of a person who is a mine worker by virtue of paragraph (k) of the interpretation "Mine worker" in subsection (1) of section two of this Act, shall be paid by him as a mine worker and by the owner of the coal mine in or about which that person is employed. .
