AN ACT to amend the Coal Mine Workers (Pensions)

Act, 1943-1948.

[Assented to 26th October, 1949.]

BTh it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty,by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

This Act may be cited as the Coal Mine Workers (Pensions) Act Amendment Act, 1949, and shall be read	Short title.
as one with the Coal Mine Workers (Pensions) Act, 1943-1948 (Act No. 27 of 1943, as amended by Nos. 33 of 1944, 15 of 1947, and 43 of 1948), hereinafter referred to as the principal Act.

Amendment

The interpretation "Mine worker" in section two, subsection (1) of the principal Act, is amended by adding after the word "forty-nine" in line five of para- graph (i) of the second proviso, the words "or a person, of s 2.

who having been so employed before, on, or after that day, has ceased to be so employed, except during any absence, lawful absence or occasional absence, referred to in section three of this Act, and has been again so employed after that day—".

Amendment

of s. 14. 4. Section fourteen of the principal Act is amended

by

(a) adding before the word "notwithstanding" in line one, the figure one in brackets, thus

(2) The provisions of this section shall cease to have effect on and from a day to be fixed by proclamation.
