I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (2) of the Coal and Oil Shale Mine Workers (Superannuation) Further Amendment Act 1994, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 February 1995 as the day on which Schedules 2 and 3 to that Act commence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Proclamation commences Schedules 2 and 3 to the Coal and Oil Shale Mine

Workers (Superannuation) Further Amendment Act 1994. Schedule 2 contains provisions which amalgamate the COSAF Superannuation Fund with the Coal and Oil Shale Mine Workers Superannuation Fund. Schedule 3 contains provisions that abolish the Coal and Oil Shale Mine Workers Superannuation Tribunal and incorporate the amalgamated superannuation fund and schemes under a trust deed which is to be administered by a new trustee, COALSUPER Pty Limited.

1995—No. 23

In accordance with section 2 (4) of the Act, the Minister has certified that the New South Wales Coal Association and United Mine Workers (a division of the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union) have both recommended that Schedule 3 to the Act be commenced.
