An Act to Amend “ The Coal and Oil Shale Mine T he C oal and O il S hale M ine Workers (Pensions) Acts, 1941 to 1950,” in W orkers (P ensions ) A cts certain particulars. A mendment A ct of 1951. [A ssented to 23 rd N ovember , 1951.] B E it enacted by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:— short title 1. This Act may be cited as “ The Goal and Oil Shale Mine Workers {Pensions) Acts Amendment construction.^ ^ 1951>» and shall be read as one with * “ The Goal and Oil Shale Mine Workers ( Pensions) Acts, 1941 to 1950,” herein referred to as the Principal Act. Collective The Principal Act and this Act may collectively be tltle' cited as “ The Coal and Oil Shale Mine Workers {Pensions) Acts, 1941 to 1951.” *5 G. 6 No. 24 and amending Acts.

Section six of the Principal Act is amended as Amendment* follows:— (a) In subsection one thereof the words “ three pounds seven shillings and sixpence ” are repealed and the words “ three pounds seventeen shillings and sixpence ” are inserted in lieu of those repealed words. (b) In subsection two thereof the words “ three pounds seven shillings and sixpence ” are repealed and the words “ three pounds seventeen shillings and sixpence ” are inserted in lieu of those repealed words. (c) In subsection three thereof the words “ three pounds seven shillings and sixpence ” are repealed and the words “ three pounds seventeen shillings and sixpence ” are inserted in lieu of those repealed words. 3. Section seven of the Principal Act is amended as Amendments follows:— (a) In subsection one thereof the words “ three pounds seven shillings and sixpence ” are repealed and the words “ three pounds seventeen shillings and sixpence ” are inserted in lieu of those repealed words. ( b ) In subsection 1 a thereof the words “three pounds seven shillings and sixpence ” are repealed and the words “ three pounds seventeen shillings and sixpence ” are inserted in lieu of those repealed words. 4. Subsection one of section eight of the Principal Act is amended as follows :— os.. (a) In paragraph (a) thereof the words “ two pounds twelve shillings and sixpence ” are repealed and the words “three pounds two shillings and sixpence ” are inserted in lieu of such repealed words. (6) In paragraph (c) thereof the words “ two pounds twelve shillings and sixpence ” are repealed and the words “ three pounds two shillings and sixpence ” are inserted in lieu of such repealed words. i 5. In subsection one of section nine of the Amendment Principal Act the words “two pounds twelve shillingsof 8‘9 (1^' and sixpence ”■ are repealed and the words “ three pounds two shillings and sixpence ” are inserted in lieu of such repealed words.
454 MINING. Coal and Oil Shale Mine Workers, Etc., Act. 15 G eo . VI.No. 45,1951. 6 . Section eighteen of the Principal Act is amended by adding thereto the following subsection, namely “ (7.) The amount estimated at any time after the passing of * “ The Coal and Oil Shale Mine Workers (Pensions) Acts Amendment Act of 1951 ” by the Tribunal to be required for any period for payment of pensions and other sums chargeable upon or payable out of the Fund and for the provision of a reserve in connection with the Fund, shall be a sum sufficient to secure the actuarial soundness of the Fund according to the report of the Actuary appointed pursuant to the provisions of section twenty-six of this Act.” Alteration of estimate of 7. The Tribunal shall, as soon as practicable after amount the date of the passing of this Act, alter the estimate rFeuqnudirfeodrby made by it of the amount required by the Fund for the financial period of twelve months commenced on the first day of y 1 e 9 a 5 r 1-1952. July, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-one, by adding such additional sum as it estimates will be required for payment of increases made by this Act in pensions and other sums chargeable upon or payable out of the Fund and, having regard to such increases, for additional provision for the reserve in connection with the Fund, and such estimate as so altered shall be deemed to be the estimate duly made by the Tribunal of the amount required by the Fund for the aforesaid period of twelve months. from which** 8. Where a pension or any addition to a pension increases in is, at the date of the passing of this Act, payable l^Tpayabie un(ier the Principal Act, any increase in the amount ’’ of that pension or addition made by this Act shall be payable on and from the commencement of the first complete period of fourteen days occurring after such lastmentioned date for which such pension or addition is payable as prescribed. * This Act.
