New South Wales CO-OPERATIVES AMENDMENT ACT 1997 NO 39—
PROCLAMATION
G. SAMUELS, Governor.
I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Co-operatives Amendment Act 1997, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 December 1997 as the day on which that Act commences, except the following provisions:
(a) Schedule 1 [9], (b)
so much of Schedule l [12] as inserts sections 7 (2) and (3), 8 and 24 (c) (v),
(c) Schedule 1 [17], (d)
so much of Schedule 1 [45] as inserts section 109, (e) Schedule 1 [68],
(f) Schedule 1 [93], (g) Schedule 1 [ [109]–[111], (h) Schedule 1 [144], (i) Schedule 1 [212],
(j) Schedule 1 [218].

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Proclamation is to commence provisions of the Co-operatives
Amendment Act 1997 other than provisions that deal with certain matters relating to:
(a) definitions used in Co-operatives Act 1992, and (b) interpretation of the Co-operatives Act 1992 or the regulations, and (c) application of the Corporations Law to co-operatives, and Published in Gazette No 130 of 28 November 1997, page 9476 Page 1

| (d) | applications for registration of existing bodies corporate, and |
| (e) | rules of a co-operative, and |
| (f) | rights of representatives to vote, and |

| (h) | offences under the Co-operatives Act 1992 or a co-operatives law. |
