AN ORDINANCE

I To amend the Co-operative Trading Societies

Ordinance 1939.

E it ordained by the Governor-General in and over the Com-

B Executive Council, in pursuance of the powers conferred by the monwealth of Australia, with the advice of the Federal

Government (Administration) Act 1910-1940, as follows:—

1.— (1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Co-operative short title

Trading Societies Ordinance 1946.* and citation.

(2.) The Co-operative Trading Societies Ordinance 1939 is in this Ordinance referred to as the Principal Ordinance.

(3.) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance,
may be cited as the Co-operative Trading Societies Ordinance 1939-
1946.

2. Section sixteen of the Principal Ordinance is amended by Formation and

inserting, after sub-section (7.), the following sub-section:— otradety"

" (7A.) Where an application for the registration of a society is made in accordance with the provisions of this section and the proposed rules of the society are amended, in pursuance of a requisition by the Registrar, and two copies of the proposed rules, as so amended, are lodged with the Registrar within thirty days after the date of the requisition, those copies of the proposed rules shall be deemed, for the purposes of this section, to have accom- panied the application.".

3. Section forty of the Principal Ordinance is amended by Name aed

Authorised by the ACT Parliamentary Counsel—also accessible at
inserting, after sub-section (1.), the following sub-section:— society."

" (1A.) The requirements of the last preceding sub-section with respect to the word ' limited' may be satisfied by the use of the contraction ' Ltd.' in its stead.".
