An Ordinance to amend the Co-operative Societies Ordinance 1939

Short title

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Co-operative Societies

(Amendment) Ordinance 1982.'

Principal Ordinance

2. In this Ordinance, "Principal Ordinance" means the Co-operative

Societies Ordinance 1939.2

3. Section 14 of the Principal Ordinance is repealed and the following

section substituted:

prescribed trading society is a par ty)" after "dispute" (first occurring).

Application of financial provisions to certain trading societies

"14. Sections 22A, 35, 36, 37,46 and 47 do not apply in relation to a trading

society that is not a prescribed trading society.".
Investments

4. Section 37 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by inserting in paragraph (1) (c) "(other than a trading society that is not a prescribed trading society)" after "society".

Disputes

5. Section 58 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by inserting in
sub-section (3) "(not being a dispute to which a trading society that is not a
