An Act to Amend "The Co-operative Housing Societies Act of 1958," in certain particulars. [ASSENTED TO 17TH MARCH, 1961.] B E it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. (1.) Thls Act may be cited as " The Co-operative Short title. Housing Societies Act Amendment Act of 1961." (2.) " The Go-operative Housing Societies Act of Principal 1958" is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. Act. (3.) The Principal Act and this Act may be ~ollective collectively cited as u The Co-operative Housing Sodeties title. Acts, 1958 to 1961."

Section eight of the Principal Act is amended (a) Repealing subsection three and inserting, in lieu of that repealed subsection, the following subsection:- " (3.) A society shall not be registered unless there has been a meeting at which there have been present twelve or more such persons and of which notice of the date, time and place for the meeting and of the purpose of the meeting has been given by advertisement published in a newspaper circulating in the locality in which it is proposed to form the society at least two weeks before the meeting." ; (b) In subsection four, repealing the words "and after a date, time and place have been fixed for the adjourned meeting, the meeting shall be adjourned for not less than three nor more than six weeks " ; (c) Repealing subsection five; and (d) In subsection six, repealing the word " adjourned ".
