CO-OPERATION ACT 1923—REGULATION

(Relating to fees)

NEW SOUTH WALES

[Published in Gazette No. 116 of 16 August 1991]

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council,
and in pursuance of the Co-operation Act 1923, has been pleased to make

the Regulation set forth hereunder.

G. B. PEACOCKE

Minister of Co-operatives.

The Co-operatives Regulations 196 1 are amended by omitting

Regulation 56 (2).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Section 55 of the Co-operation Act 1923 provides that the Registrar of Co-operative Societies may require, when considering whether to register a rule of a co-operative society (other than a non-terminating building society) which provides for the withdrawal of shares by a member, a certificate as to the actuarial value of the shares to be withdrawn.

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Co-operatives Regulations 1961 to

remove the requirement for a co-operative society to pay a fee to the Registrar in
respect of the furnishing of such a certificate.
