CLOSER SETTLEMENT
(AMENDMENT) ACT.
Act No. 32, 1939.
An. Act to alter the constitution of Closer Settle ment Advisory Boards; for this purpose to amend the Closer Settlement (Amendment) Act, 1907, as amended by subsequent Acts; and for purposes connected therewith. [As sented to, 7th November, 1939.]

(2) This Act shall commence on the first day of November, one thousand nine hundred and thir ty-nine.
2. The Closer Set t lement (Amendment) Act, 1907, as amended by subsequent Acts , is amended by omit t ing from section two all words af ter the words " a s an ' A d v i s o r y B o a r d ' " and by inser t ing in lieu thereof the following new subsections—
(a) Subject to p a r a g r a p h (b) of this subsec tion each such advisory board shall consist of two members (in this section hereinaf ter re fer red to as " a p p o i n t e d m e m b e r s " ) to be appointed by the Gov ernor , one of whom shall be so appointed to be the cha i rman of the board.

(b) F o r the purpose of dealing with such mat te r s , questions, or inquiries as the Minister may, f rom time to t ime, direct, ei ther generally or in any par t i cu la r case or class of cases, each such board shall consist of th ree members , of whom two shall be
+1145—o the the appointed members and one shall be a district surveyor nominated, either generally or in any particular case or class of cases, by the Minister.
(3) In case of the absence or illness of an appointed member tlie Governor may appoint a deputy, wlior during such absence or illness, shall have and may exercise and discharge all the powers, authorities, duties and functions of an appointed member.
