An Act to amend the Climate Change and Greenhouse Gas Reduction Act 2010

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

1. Name of Act

   This Act is the Climate Change and Greenhouse Gas Reduction (Membership) Amendment Act 2024.

2. Commencement

   This Act commences on the day after its notification day.

   NoteThe naming and commencement provisions automatically commence on the notification day (see Legislation Act, s 75 (1)).

3. Legislation amended

   This Act amends the Climate Change and Greenhouse Gas Reduction Act 2010.

4. Membership
   Section 20 (1)

   substitute

   (1)The council consists of at least 5, but not more than 10, members appointed by the Minister.

5. Section 20 (2) (b)

   substitute

   (b)the council includes at least 2 Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people; and
