CLARENCE RIVER (NORTHERN
BRE A IvWATER) ACT. Act No. 19, 1919.
An Act to sanction the construction of a breakwater on the northern side of the entrance to the Clarence River ; to amend the Public AVorks Act, 1012 ; and for purposes consequent thereon or incidental thereto. [Assented to, 5th December, 1919.]

Wales in Parliament assembled, and bv the authority of the same, as follows :—
1 . This Act may be cited as the "Clarence Paver
(Northern Breakwater) Act, 1919 " 2 .
2 . The work described in the Schedule to this Act
is hereby sanctioned, and shall be deemed to be an
authorised work within the meaning of the Public
Works Act, 1912, but the provisions of sections thirty-
four, thirty-five, thirty-six, and thirty-seven of that Act shall not apply to the said work, and the provisions of
section thirty-eight of that Act shall apply to any
contracts for carrying out such work.
3 . The plan of the said work is the plan marked
" Clarence River Northern Breakwater," signed by the Minister for Public Works, and countersigned by the Chief Engineer for Harbours and Drainage, and deposited
in the public office of the said Minister.
4: . The cost of carrying out the said work, estimated at three hundred and fourteen thousand pounds, may be defrayed from such Loan Votes as are now, or may hereafter he, applicable to the purpose, or from appro- priations of the Public Works Fund, or partly from such votes and partiy from such appropriations, and shall not under any circumstances exceed the estimated cost by more than ten per centum.

T H E construction of a breakwater on the northern side of the entrance
to the Clarence River, being an extension of the existing wall for a distance of 3,100 feet, subject to such deviations and modifications as may be found necessary by the Constructing Authority.
