SECTION 95.33          EUROCOPTER EC665 TIGER ARMED RECONNAISSANCE HELICOPTER

1Application

1.1This section applies to Eurocopter EC665 Tiger Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter undergoing production flight testing or acceptance flight testing in Australia.

1.2For the purposes of regulation 200.010 of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998 (CASR 1998), this section sets out the conditions with which the aircraft to which this section applies must comply in order to be exempt from compliance with the Civil Aviation Regulations 1988 and CASR 1998.

2Definitions

2.1In this section:

production flight testing means production flight testing as defined in regulation 200.010 of CASR 1998.

acceptance flight testing means acceptance flight testing as defined in regulation 200.010 of CASR 1998.

flight testing means production flight testing or acceptance flight testing.

ADF means the Australian Defence Force.

Joint Aviation Standards and Procedures (JASAP) means the standards and procedures issued under that title by Airservices Australia and the Department of Defence.

Australian Aerospace means Australian Aerospace Limited.

3Conditions

3.1The authorisation and control of flight testing of the Eurocopter EC665 Tiger Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter to the extent necessary to ensure that the aircraft are airworthy is to be exercised by Australian Aerospace.

3.2The authorisation and control of flight testing of the Eurocopter EC665 Tiger Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter to the extent necessary to ensure that the aircrew have appropriate ratings, medical classification and flying experience must be exercised by the ADF in accordance with military standards.

3.3Before beginning flight testing, Australian Aerospace personnel must conduct an inspection of the aircraft to determine whether:

(a)it complies with the design standard; and

(b)it is suitable for flight testing.

3.4Before beginning flight testing, the ADF must ensure that all ADF pilots conducting tests are properly authorised to do so.

3.5Production flight testing must be conducted in accordance with the publications known as:

(a)AAP 7210.018-1 Flight Manual — AHR; and

(b)TO20A0503E01 PFT Basic Helicopter Ground Runs; and

(c)TO20A0504E01 PFT Basic Helicopter Flights; and

(d)TO20A0507E01 PFT MEP.

3.6Acceptance flight testing must be conducted in accordance with:

(a)the publications known as:

(i)AAP 7210.018-1 Flight Manual — AHR; and

(ii)AAP 7210.018-6-15 Flight Test Schedule — AHR; and

(b)aircraft operating limitations issued from time to time by Australian Aerospace.

3.7Flight testing, or other flights in relation to flight testing, conducted outside military airspace must be conducted in accordance with the provisions of JASAP as in force from time to time.
