Civil Aviation Order 29.10 Amendment Order (No. 1) 2006

1          Name of instrument

            This instrument is the Civil Aviation Order 29.10 Amendment Order (No. 1) 2006.

2          Commencement

            This instrument commences on the day after it is registered.

3          Amendment of Civil Aviation Order 29.10

        Schedule 1 amends Civil Aviation Order 29.10.

Schedule 1          Amendment

[1]       Subsection 1, Application

This section applies to registered aircraft engaged in aerial stock mustering operations.

[2]       Subsection 2, Definitions, aerial stock mustering

aerial stock mustering means the use of aircraft to locate, direct and concentrate livestock while the aircraft is flying below 500 feet above ground level and for related training operations.

approved flight test officer means a person approved to conduct flight tests for the renewal of an approval for an approved training pilot.

12.4     An approved training pilot’s approval remains in force for the period of 2 years from the last day of the month in which the approval was issued or renewed.

12.5     An approved training pilot seeking to renew his or her approval must satisfactorily demonstrate, in the operational environment, to CASA or an approved flight test officer:

(a)   his or her ability to perform the flying techniques used in aerial stock mustering in the type of aircraft for which he or she is seeking approval; and

(b)   his or her ability to conduct operational training of other pilots.

12.6     An approved training pilot may not exercise the privileges of the approval unless he or she has:

(a)   in the previous 13 months completed a minimum of 20 hours of aerial stock mustering in the kind of aircraft for which he or she has the approval; or

(b)   within the previous 12 months renewed his or her approval.
