Civil Aviation Order 103.3 Instrument 2007

1          Name of instrument

            This instrument is the Civil Aviation Order 103.3 Instrument 2007.

2          Commencement

            This instrument commences on the day after it is registered.

3          New Civil Aviation Order 103.3

            Civil Aviation Order 103.3 is repealed and a new Civil Aviation Order 103.3 substituted as set out in Schedule 1.

Design standards — aircraft instruments

1          Application

            This Civil Aviation Order issues design standards under regulation 21 of the Civil Aviation Regulations 1988 in respect of aircraft instruments.

2          Design standards

            Design standards for aircraft instruments must be the relevant design standards specified in either:

(a)   Specifications of the British Standards Institute; or

(b)   Specifications of the Society of Automotive Engineers (USA).

Note   A specification issued by the competent authority in a contracting state or a manufacturer’s proprietary specification may, upon application to the Director, be designated by him as an alternative design standard.
