CIVIL AVIATION (CARRIERS' LIABILITY)
AMENDMENT ACT.

Act No. 8, 1971.
An Act to make further provisions relating to the carriage of passengers and baggage by air; for this purpose to amend the Civil Aviation (Carriers' Liability) Act, 1967; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 14th May, 1971.]
Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
(Carriers' Liability) Amendment Act, 1971". (2) 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the "Civil Aviation
(2) This Act shall commence upon a day to be appointed by the Governor and notified by proclamation published in the Gazette.
2. The Civil Aviation (Carriers' Liability) Act, 1967,
is amended—
(a) (i) by omitting from subsection one of section
two the definition of "an exempted person";
(ii) by omitting from subsection two of the same section the words ", and subsection two of section twenty-six of the Commonwealth Act is to be read and construed as if the words ', or an exempted person,' were inserted therein after the word 'licence' wherever occurring";
(b)
(i)
by omitting from section four the words ", or by an exempted person," and by inserting in lieu thereof the words "or a charter licence";
(ii)
by inserting in the same section after the word "State" where secondly occurring the words "or from a place in the State back to that place".
3. The amendments made by this Act do not apply in
relation to an accident or occurrence that took place before
the commencement of this Act.
