I, PETER JOHN HOLLINGWORTH, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Civil Aviation Act 1988.

1Name of Regulations

These Regulations are the Civil Aviation Amendment Regulations 2002 (No. 5).

2Commencement

These Regulations are taken to have commenced on 1 July 2002.

3Amendment of Civil Aviation Regulations 1998

Schedule 1 amends the Civil Aviation Regulations 1998.

101.020Exemption from certain other provisions of CAR 1988

Parts 4, 4A, 4B, 4C, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 of CAR 1988 do not apply to an aircraft to which this Part applies, nor to a micro UAV.

1. These Regulations amend Statutory Rules 1998 No. 237, as amended by 1999 Nos. 166 (as amended by 1999 No. 262) and 262; 2000 Nos. 7, 204 (Item [7] of Schedule 2 was disallowed by the Senate on 8 November 2000) and 227; 2001 Nos. 34, 242 and 349 (as amended by 2002 No. 79); 2002 No. 167.
