In section twenty-five of "The Bockhamptort Harbour Board Act, 1895,"* the words "One hundred and fifty thousand pounds," where those words occur three times, are repealed, and the words" Two hundred and fifty thOUS~ llld pounds" are respectively inserted in lieu thereof. [ASSENTED TO 14'l'H DECEMBER, 1906.J Preamble. WHEREAS, by " The South BJ'isbane Municipal Loan Act of 1901 "t the Oouncil of the Municipality (now the Oity) of South Brisbane was empowered, subject to the conditions in that Act provided, to raise by debentures the sum of one hundred thousand pounds for the purposes in that Act set forth: And whereas pursuant to that Act the sum of £22,500 has been so raised and expended as follows, namely, in the discharge of the indebtedness of the Oouncil to the Queensland National Bank, Limited, £10,000; on drainage, £5,900; on water- channelling, £1,840; on road formation and public baths, £1,560; on the new Technical Oollege Hall, £1,200; and on Norman Creek Bridge, £2,000: And whereas the sum of £i7,500 has not yet been raised under the powers conferred by that Act: And whereas the said Oouncil is desirous that the purposes to which the said sum of £77,500 when raised may be applied by the said Council should be varied: And whereas the said Council is also desirous of obtaining authority to raise a further sum of £50,000, in the manner and subject to the conditions in that Act set forth, for wharfage purposes: And whereas it is expedient that the aforesaid powers should * 59 Vie. No. 29, 1906 Cit.y ot South Brisbane Loan Ad. be granted to the said Council, and that the said Act should be amendp.d so as to confer such powers: Be it therefore enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :- 1. This Act may be cited as "The City of South Short title Brisbane Loan Act of 1906," and shall be read as one with ~~ ~ strnctiOll. " The Smdh Brisbane Municipal Loan Act of 1901,"* of Act. herein called "the Principal Act." This Act and the Principal Act may together be cited as " The City of South Brisbane Loan .Acts, 1901 to 1906." 2. In section two of the Principal Act, the word Amendment " Municipality" is repealed, and the word "City" is of B. 2. inserted in lieu thereof; also, the words "one hundred thousand pounds" are repealed, and the words "one hundred and fifty thous::ma pounds" are inserted in lieu thereof. 3. In the second paragraph of section three of the Amendment Principal Act, before the words "shall not exceed," the of s. 3. words" except for wharfage purposes" are inserted. In the third paragraph of the said section, before the words "he repayable," the words ,. as to all debentures issued prior to the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and seven," are inserted, and the following words. are added to the said paragraph, that is to say: "and as to all debentures issued on or after the said first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and seven, be repay- able at the expiration of thirty years from the respective dates of the issue of such debentures." 4. THE Cricket Ground to Lease a certain POl tion of BRISBANE CRICKET the said Ground, and to Mortgage the said GROUND ACT OF 1906 Ground, and for other incidental purposes. [ASSENTED 'l'0 14TH DECEMBER, 1906.J Preamble. W HEREAS by Deed of Grant dated the twenty-first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, and numbered 82376, all that piece or parcel of land, in the State ~ f Queensland, situated in the county of Stanley and parish of South Brisbane, being allotment number one of section number fifty-four, and containing twelve acres and four perches and two-tenths of a perch, with all rights and appurtenances whatsoever thereto belonging; and known as the Brisbane Cricket Ground, was granted to Thomas J oseph Hyrnes, George Down, and Ernest J ames Stevens, and their successors, as 'frustees upon trust for the purposes of a Reserve for Cricket and other Athletic Sports, and for no other purposes whatsoever:
