AN ACT to authorise certain amendments of a Scheme for Superannuation established by the City of Perth under the City of Perth Superannuation Fund Act, 1934.

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty,by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

Short title.

1.

This Act may be cited as the City of Perth Scheme for Superannuation (Amendments Authorisation) Act,

1949.

Definition. 2.

In this Act, "The Scheme for Superannuation" means the Scheme for Superannuation established by the City of Perth under the Superannuation Fund Act, 1934, as amended on the 23rd February, 1942, pursuant to the powers conferred on the City of Perth by the City of Perth Scheme for Superannuation (Amendments Author- isation) Act, 1941, and as set forth in the Second SL: Thule of the last-mentioned Act, as amended on the 12th day of May, 1947, pursuant to the powers conferred on the City of Perth by the City of Perth Scheme for Super- annuation (Amendments Authorisation) Act, 1946, and as amended on the 4th day of May, 1948, pursuant to the powers conferred on the City of Perth by the City of Perth Scheme for Superannuation (Amendments Author- isation) Act, 1947.

3. The Scheme for Superannuation may be amended

in the following manner :—

(a) Delete the words "or in the case of the Elec- tricity and Gas Department from the General Manager" in the definition of "Officer" in paragraph 1.

(b) Delete subparagraph (d) of paragraph 2 (1) and insert the following subparagraph in lieu thereof :—

(d) A contribution by the Council of an annual sum not exceeding one thous- and eight hundred pounds (£1,800) for a period of nineteen years from the 1st day of July, 1949, such annual sum to be assessed by an actuary as soon as possible after the 1st day of July, 1949, and from time to time thereafter as may be necessary in the opinion of the actuary.

(c)	Delete the words "and gas" in line four of the first paragraph, and in line two of the second paragraph of paragraph 4.
(d)	Delete the words "the General Manager of the Electricity and Gas Department of the Coun- cil for the time being" in the first paragraph of paragraph 4 and insert in lieu thereof the words "the City Treasurer of the Council for the time being".

4. The Scheme for Superannuation, as amended in the Opera

manner authorised by this Act, shall only be brought in operation if and when the provisions of sections five to eight, inclusive, of the City of Perth Superannua- tion Fund Act, 1934, shall have been complied with as if such amended scheme were a proposition for a scheme within the meaning of section five of the said Act.
