EDUOATION-ELECTRICITY. 26 GEO. V. No. 31, 1935. City of Brisbane (Stanley River, Etc.), Act. 15619 (2.) All Orders in Council and regulations made To be laid or purporting to be made under this Act shall i~ r~ r: ment. upon being published in the Gazette be of the same effect as if they were enacted in this Act and shall be judicially noticed, and shall not be questioned in any proceedings whatsoever. All such Orders in Council and regulations shall be laid before Parliament within fourteen days after the publication thereof if Parliament is then sitting; or if not, then within fourteen days after the commencement of the next session thereof. If the Legislative Assembly passes a resolution disallowing any such· regulation, of which resolution notice has been given at any time within fourteen sitting days of such House after such regulation has been laid before it, such regulation shall thereupon cease to have effect, but without prejudice to the validity of anything done in the meantime. For the purpose of this section, the term" sitting days" shall mean days on which the House actually sits for the despatch of business. ELECTRICITY. [ASSENTED TO 10TH DECEMBER, 1935.] B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. This Act may be cited as " The Oity of Brisbane Short title. (Stanley River Dam Electricity Supply) Act of 1935," and shall be read as one with *" The Oity of Brisbane Acts, 1924 to 1934," herein referred to as the Principal Act. * 15 Geo. V. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, tion. . the following terms shall have the meanings respectively set opposite to them, that is to say;- Stanley River Dam. "Stanley River Dam"-The area of the site approved by the Governor in Council for the construction of a dam across the Stanley River and all necessary appurtenances thereto under and in accordance with *" The Bureau of Industry Acts, 1932 to 1934 " ; Co'_mcil. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary authorised contained in the Principal Act or in any other Act or etolesautrpicpiltyy law, or in any Order in Council granted to a Local to Stanley Authority, company, or person under t" The Electric River Dam. Light and Power Acts, 1896 to 1934," the Council is hereby authorised to supply electricity to the Stanley River Dam. Powers of Council. (2.) In respect of the supply of electricity to the Stanley River Dam the Council shall subject to this Act have and possess and be deemed to have and possess all the powers, rights, privileges, and authorities, and be and be deemed to be subject to all the liabilities, duties, obligations, and responsibilities conferred or imposed upon a Local Authority by §" The Local Authorities Acts, 1902 to 1934," and/or t" The Electric Light and Power Act~ , 1896 to 1934," and/or any other Act or law conferring powers, rights, privileges, or authorities, or imposing liabilities, duties, obligations, or responsibilities upon a Local Authority in respect of the supply of electricity. Council deemed an Electric Authority. (3.) For the purposes of the supply of electricity to the Stanley River Dam the Council shall (and without the authority of an Order in Council granted to it pursuant to t" The Electric Light and Power Acts, 1896 to 1934," and notwithstanding that no such Order in Council has been granted to it, and without the doing or executing by it of any act, matter, or thing required * 23 Geo. City of Bri8bane (Stanley River, Etc.), Act. 15621 to be done or executed by any Local Authority, company, or person prior to the grant to such Local Authority, company, or person of any such Order in Council, and notwithstanding that no such act, matter, or thing has been done or executed by it) be and be deemed to be an' Electric Authority within the meaning of *" The Electric Light and Power Acts, 1896 to 1934 " : Provided that the Council constituting such Electric Authority as aforesaid shall be subject to such conditions, limitations, and liabilities as may from time to time be inserted in or prescribed by any Order in Council affecting the undertaking with regard to the matters set out in section eleven of *" The Electric Light and Power Acts, 1896 to 1934." 4.
