City of Brisbane Acts Amendment Act of 1967
536 Qlljowslanbr ANNO SEXTO DECIMO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 52 of 1967 An Act to Amend "The City of Brisbane Acts, 1924 to 1966," in certain particulars [ASSENTED TO 22ND DECEMBER, 1967] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same , as follows:- 1. (1) Short title . This Act may be cited as " The City of Brisbane Acts Amendment Act of 1967." (2) Principal Act. " The City of Brisbane Acts, 1924 to 1966," are in this Act called the Principal Act. (3) Collective title. The Principal Act and this Act may be collectively cited as " The City of Brisbane Acts, 1924 to 1967." 2. New s. 23. The Principal Act is amended by inserting after section twenty-two the following section:- " [23.] Superannuation scheme. Subject to the approval of the Governor in Council, the Council may establish and from time to time vary a superannuation or provident scheme to be contributed to by the Mayor and aldermen for the time being for the benefit of persons who. after the establishment of such scheme, have held the office of Mayor or alderman and their dependants and may make payments from the City Fund by way of subsidy or contribution to the funds created and held in connection with such scheme.
City of Brisbane Acts Amendment Act of 1967, No. 52 537 The Council may, by resolution, make rules with respect to the establishment and variation of such scheme and, in particular, providing for the appointment of trustees of any fund created in connection therewith and defining the scheme, the obligations, duties and rights of the Council and all other contributors thereto and defining the persons who are dependants of contributors and the rights of persons so defined. Such rules- (a) shall be of no force or effect until they have been approved by the Governor in Council; (b) for the time being in force shall be binding upon the Council, all other contributors to such scheme and all persons claiming to be entitled to benefit from such scheme." 3. Amendment to Sch. III. Schedule III to the Principal Act is amended by, in clause 24, omitting the words " one shilling " and inserting in their stead the words " ten cents ".
