Short title. This Act may be cited as the City of Brisbane Act and Another Act Amendment Act 1976. 2. Parts of Act. This Act is divided into Parts as follows:- PART I-PRELIMINARY; PART II-AMENDMENTS OF THE CITY OF BRISBANE ACT 1924-1974; PART III-AMENDMENTS OF THE CITY OF BRISBANE TOWN PLANNING Acr 1964-1975. PART 1I-AMENDMENTS OF THE CITY OF BRISBANE ACT 1924-1974 3. Citation . (1) In this Part, the City of Brisbane Act1924-1974 is referred to as the Principal Act. (2) The Principal Act as amended by this Part may be cited as the City of Brisbane Act1924-1976.

Section 14M of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) in subsection (3)- (i) omitting the words " in some conspicuous place at the City Hall and "; (ii) inserting after the words " electoral ward " the words " and in some conspicuous place at an office of the Council at which public business is conducted which office is at or within one kilometre of the City Hall, is, in the particular case, nominated by the Commissioners and, in the opinion of the Minister, is centrally and conveniently situated. "; (b) in subsection (5)- (i) omitting the words " at the City Hall and "; (ii) inserting after the words " electoral ward " the words " and at the office referred to in subsection (3) "; (c) omitting from subsection (7) the words " at the City Hall ". 5. Amendment of s. 38. Section 38 of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) omitting from subsection (2) the words " public office of the Council at the City Hall " and substituting the words " prescribed place "; (b) omitting from subsection (2A) the words " public office of the Council " where first occurring and substituting the words " prescribed place "; (c) omitting from subsection (2A) (b) the words " public office of the Council at the City Hall" and the words "that office" and substituting the words " prescribed place, naming that place," and the words " that place " respectively; (d) omitting from subsection (2B) the words " public office of the Council at the City Hall " and substituting the words " prescribed place "; (e) inserting after subsection (2E) the following subsection:- " (2F) In this section "prescribed place" means an office of the Council at which public business is conducted, which office is at or within one kilometre of the City Hall and, if not at the City Hall, is nominated for the time being by the Council and is in the opinion of the Minister centrally and conveniently situated.". PART III-AMENDMENTS OF THE CITY OF BRISBANE TOWN PLANNING ACT 1964-1975 6. Citation . (1) In this Part, the City of Brisbane Town Planning Act 1964-1975 is referred to as the Principal Act. (2) The Principal Act as amended by this Part may be cited as the City of Brisbane Town Planning Act 1964-1976. 7. New section 3A . The Principal Act is amended by inserting after section 3 the following section:- " 3A. Nomination of prescribed places. (1) Subject to this section the Brisbane City Council may nominate an office of the Council at which public business is conducted and which is at or within one kilometre of the City Hall as a prescribed place- (a) generally, whereupon such office shall be the prescribed place in all cases other than a particular case for which a prescribed place is nominated under this section for the purpose or provision of this Act for which such place is nominated as the prescribed place;

City ofBrisbane Act and Another Act Amendment Act 1976, No. 84 1,013 for the City of Brisbane in force under that Act the office of the Council at the City Hall shall be the prescribed place for inspection of the particulars, including relevant maps if any, of the amendment for which the Council proposes to make such application. 10. Amendment of s. 22. Section 22 of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) in subsection (IA), omitting from subparagraph (i) of paragraph (d) all words from and including.the words " office of " to the end of the subparagraph and substituting the words " prescribed place, naming that place "; , (b) omitting the second paragraph of subsection (4) and substituting the following paragraph:- "The Council shall at all times during which its offices are open for the conduct of public business make available a copy of the application for inspection at the prescribed place.". 11. Amendment of s. 22A. Section 22A of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) omitting from subsection (4) the words " office of the Council at the City Hall " and substituting the words " prescribed place, naming that place,"; (b) omitting from subsection (5) the words " office at the City Hall is " and- substituting the words " offices are ".
