AN ORDINANCE

To amend the City Area Leases Ordinance 1936-1943.

I BE it ordained by the Governor-General in and over the Com-Executive Council, in pursuance of the powers conferred by the monwealth of Australia, with the advice of the Federal Seat of Government Acceptance Act 1909-1938 and the Seat of
Government (Administration) Act 1910-1947, as follows:—

1.— (1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the City Area Leases short title

Ordinance 1947.*

(2.) The City Area Leases Ordinance 1936-1943, as amended by this Ordinance, may be cited as the City Area Leases Ordinance 1936-1947.

2. Section fourteen of the City Area Leases Ordinance 1936- Power to

1943 is amended— applications

(a) by adding at the end of sub-section (5.) the following ,orIeases-

proviso:—

" Provided that the unimproved value placed by an applicant upon the parcel of land shall not exceed the reserve value placed by the Minister on the parcel of land by more than ten per centum of that reserve value."; and

(b) by omitting sub-section (7.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-section :—

" (7.) If two or more applicants place the same unimproved value on a parcel of land, or the same value on the improvements, or both, as the case may be, and the value so placed by the applicants is the highest unimproved value placed on the parcel, or the highest value placed on the improvements, or both, as the case may be, and the applicants are otherwise equally eligible as lessees, the Minister may determine by ballot or otherwise the applicant to whom the lease may be granted.".

3. Paragraph (a) of the last preceding section shall cease to Duration,

Security (Economic Organization) Regulations ceases to have effect.
