The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Circular Economy (Waste Reduction and Recycling) (Waste to Energy Scheme) Regulations 2023 to increase the cap limit that applies for the purposes of the waste to energy scheme under Part 5A of the Circular Economy (Waste Reduction and Recycling) Act 2021.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 183 of the Circular Economy (Waste Reduction and Recycling) Act 2021.

3Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Circular Economy (Waste Reduction and Recycling) (Waste to Energy Scheme) Regulations 2023[1] are called the Principal Regulations.

4Cap limit

In regulation 5A of the Principal Regulations, for "2 million tonnes per financial year" substitute "2∙5 million tonnes per financial year".
