Preamble

HEREAS by certain Ordinances of the Legislative Council of

this Colony, passed respectively in the sixteenth and twenty-

fourth years of the reign of Her present Majesty, and intituled respec-

tively 'An Ordinance to regulate the Temporal Affairs of Churches and

Chapels of the United Church of England and Ireland in Western

16 Vie., No. 22, Australia' and Ordinance to amend an Ordinance intituled " An

and 24 Vic.,No.4 Ordinance to regulate the Temporal Affairs of Churches and Chapels

of the United Church of England and Ireland in Western Australia," ' certain legal provision was made for regulating the temporal affairs of the members of the said Church in this Colony ; and whereas those Acts have been in part repealed but in part still remain in force, and whereas it is desirable and expedient that the temporal affairs of the members of the said Church so far as they are still regulated by such parts of the said Ordinances as still remain in force should cease to be regulated by such parts of the said Ordinances, and should henceforth be regu- lated and managed by mutual compact and arrangement among the members of the said Church : Be it therefore enacted by His Excel- lency the Governor of Western Australia and its Dependencies, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof: -

repmled No. 22 of 1853, intituled An Ordinance to regulate the Temporal Affairs of Churches and Chapels of the United Church of England and Ireland in Western Australia,' and also the Ordinance of the Legislative Council 24th Victoria, No. 4 of 1860, intituled An Ordinance to amend an Ordinance intituled "An Ordinance to regulate the Temporal Affairs of Churches and Chapels of the United Church of England and Ireland in Western Australia," ' so far as the said Ordinances are not already repealed, shall be and the same are hereby respectively repealed.
