AN OKDINANOE

To amend the Church Lands Leases Ordinance

1924-1927.

BE it ordained by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth Council, in pursuance of the powers conferred by the Seat of of Australia, with the advice of the Federal Executive Government Acceptance Act 1909 and the Seat of Government

{Administration) Act 1910, as follows:—

1.— (1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Church Lands Short title ami

Leases Ordinance 1930.

(2.) The Church Lands Leases Ordinance 1924-1927 is in this Ordinance referred to as the Principal Ordinance.

(3.) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance, may be cited as the Church Lands Leases Ordinance 1924-1930.

2. Section three of the Principal Ordinance is amended by Power to gmnt

omitting the words "a t the rate of One pound per centum per annum upon the unimproved value of the land as determined by the Minister, and shall not be subject to reappraisement" and inserting in their stead the words "One shilling per annum, payable if and when demanded by the Commission".

(2.) This section shall be deemed to have commenced on the twenty-sixth day of March, One thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine.

Meaning of

5. Section ten of the Pr incipal Ordinance is amended by omitting the words " , residence for clergy or a school where religious instruction only is g iven" and inserting in their stead the following proviso:—

purposes".

"Provided that nothing in this section shall prevent the
erection, on a site granted for a church, of a residence for

clergy or a school where religious instruction only is given."
