Chiropractors Registration Board Amendment

Rules 1999

Made by the Board with the approval of the Governor in Executive
Council.

1.            Citation

These rules may be cited as the Chiropractors Registration
Board Amendment Rules 1999.

2.            The rules amended

The amendments in these rules are to the Chiropractors
Registration Board Rules 1966*.

3.            Rule 6 amended

(1) Rule 6(2) is amended after paragraph (a) by deleting "or" and

inserting -

(aa) fails to pay the annual licence fee referred to in

rule 10(2); or

(2) Rule 6(5) is amended by deleting ", upon payment of the fee

prescribed in Appendix A to these rules,".

(3) After rule 6(5) the following subrule is inserted
(6) A person may, on payment of the fee prescribed in
Appendix A, obtain a copy of the register.
4. Rule 7 amended
Rule 7(a) is amended by deleting "final diploma or degree of,
the International College of Chiropractic, Melbourne, Victoria;"
and inserting instead -

"

degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of
Technology;

5.            Rule 9 amended

After rule 9(1) the following subrule is inserted -

IE

(la) For the purposes of the consideration of an application

for registration under clause 9(1) a meeting of the

Board may be held -

(a)

by telephone, audio visual or other electronic means; or

(b)

by the circulation of papers and the passing of a resolution in writing approved by a majority of the members of the Board,

and any person who takes part in a meeting so held or
approves a resolution so circulated is, for the purposes
of that subclause, deemed to have been present at the
meeting.

6.            Rule 10C amended

(1) Rule 1OC(1)(a) is amended by inserting after "that title" -

unless it is used in conjunction with the word

"chiropractor" or "chiropractic"

(2) Rule 1OC(4) is repealed.

7.             Rule 14 amended

Rule 14(1) is amended as follows:

(a) after paragraph (b) by deleting "or";

(b)

after paragraph (c) by deleting the comma and inserting —

; or

(d) order the chiropractor to pay a penalty not

exceeding $5 000,

8.            Appendix A replaced

Appendix A is deleted and the following appendix is inserted instead —

Appendix A

Fees

For a copy of the register 20.00
For application to be registered as a chiropractor 100.00
For the issue of a certificate of registration as a chiropractor. . 30.00
For the issue of a licence to practise chiropractic if the
licence is issued during the period from July to December. . . .
For the issue of a licence to practise chiropractic if the
350.00
licence is issued during the period from January to June 175.00

For the issue of a licence to practice chiropractic where the

chiropractor does not practice solely in the State 100.00
For the renewal of a licence to practise chiropractic 350.00
