EXPLANATORY NOTE
The Chiropractors and Osteopaths Regulation 1991 (among other things) prescribes courses of training for the purposes of section 9 (a) (relating to qualification for registration as a chiropractor) and 10 (a) (relating to qualification for registration as an osteopath) of the Chiropractors and Osteopaths Act 1991. Successful completion of such a course, together with receipt of the relevant academic award, entitles a person who is of or above the age of 18 and is of good character to be registered, on payment of the prescribed fee, as a chiropractor or an osteopath (as appropriate).
1995—No. 737
The Regulation was amended on 27 October 1995 to reflect the fact that the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Victoria, had changed the names of 2 of the academic awards relating to prescribed courses of training provided by that Institute. The amendments replaced the degree of Bachelor of Applied Science (Chiropractic) with the degrees of Bachelor of Applied Science (Clinical Science), Bachelor of Chiropractic Science, and the degree of Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy) with the degrees of Bachelor of Applied Science (Clinical Science), Bachelor of Osteopathic Science.
This Regulation reinstates the previous names of the academic awards concerned in
relation to prescribed courses of training for the purposes of the relevant sections.
