CHIROPRACTORS AND OSTEOPATHS ACT 1991—

REGULATION

(Relating to courses of training)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Chiropractors and Osteopaths Act 1991, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Chiropractors and Osteopaths Regulation 1991 is amended:

(a)

by inserting at the end of the Table to clause 4 the following matter:

Degree of Bachelor of Royal Melbourne Institute
Applied Science of Technology, Victoria
(Chiropractic)
(b) by inserting at the end of clause 5 (b) the following paragraph:

(c)

the course of training undertaken at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Victoria, for the successful completion of which that institution may confer a degree of Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Chiropractors and Osteopaths

Regulation 1991:

(a) to provide that the degree of Bachelor of Applied Science (Chiropractic) awarded by the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Melbourne, is a prescribed course of training for the purposes of registration as a

chiropractor under section 9 (a) of the Chiropractors and Osteopaths Act

1991;

(b)

to provide that the degree of Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy) awarded by the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Victoria, is a prescribed course of training for the purposes of registration as an osteopath under section 10 (a) of the Chiropractors and Osteopaths Act 1991.

These amendments result from the amalgamation of the Phillip Institute of

Technology and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
