AN ACT to amend the Chiropractors Act 1964.
[Assented to 5 November 1980.]
BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Chiro- niarctiatn.
praetors Amendment Act 1980.
| (2) | In this Act, the Chiropractors Act 1964 is |
referred to as the principal Act.
| (3) | The principal Act as amended by this Act may |
be referred to as the Chiropractors Act 1964-1980.

Commence-
| ment. | 2. This Act shall come into operation on the twenty-eighth day after the day on which it is assented to by the Governor. |
:en= 16A 3. After section 16 of the principal Act, the

| Accounts | and audit. | " 16A. The Board shall keep proper accounts of all receipts and payments, and of the purposes for which the money was so received or paid, and such accounts shall be audited at least once a year, at the expense of the Board, by an auditor appointed by the Board with the prior approval of the Minister. |

| Reports. | 16B. (1) The Board shall on or before 31 October in each year make and submit a report of its proceedings for the preceding year ending on 30 June to the Minister together with a true copy of the accounts as then last audited and with a copy of the auditor's report thereon. |
The Minister shall cause a copy of each report furnished pursuant to this section to be laid before each House of Parliament within 14 days of his receipt thereof if Parliament is then in session, or within 14 days of the commence- ment of the next session of Parliament if Parliament is not then in session.

(3) This section applies in respect of the financial year ending on 30 June 1981 and succeeding financial years. " .
Section 18
| amended. | 4. Section 18 of the principal Act is amended by inserting after subsection (1) the following subsection- |
" (la) Before making rules with respect to a matter referred to in paragraph (g) of subsection (1) of this section, the Board shall consult the Australasian Council on Chiroprac- tic Education Limited. " .

Section 19
| 5. Section 19 of the principal Act is amended | amended. |
| (a) | by deleting "Two hundred dollars" and substituting the following- |
" $1 000 "; and
| (b) | by deleting "ten dollars" and substituting the following- |

following section is inserted-
| CC 20A. (1) A person who is aggrieved— | Appeals. |
| (a) | by the refusal of an application for registration; |
| (b) | by the refusal of any application for approval, permission, or consent made pursuant to the rules made under this Act; |
| (c) | by a condition imposed by the Board in relation to a consent; or |
| (d) | by a decision of the Board in the exercise of its disciplinary powers, |
may appeal to the Local Court against the decision of the Board within one month after receiving notice of the decision.
(2) An appeal under this section may be instituted and dealt with in accordance with rules of the Local Court or, if in relation to any matter no such rule is applicable, in such manner as the Court may direct.
(3) In determining an appeal under this
section, the Local Court may
| (a) | confirm, quash or vary the decision of the Board; |
| (b) | remit the matter to the Board for re-hearing with or without directions; |

(c) make such other order, including an order as to costs, as the Court thinks fit. " .
Section 24
| amended. | 7. | Section 24 of the principal Act is amended by |
deleting "one hundred dollars" and substituting the
following-
" $1000 " .
