RAILWAYS B E it enacted by the King's 'Most Excellent Majesty, ACT by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- . t: rE~ : ~ ; : ~ lative Council and Legisltttive Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows : - 1. This Act may be cited as "The ChilZagoe and Short title Etheridge Railways Act Amendment Act of 1920," and :~ ~st'ruction shall be read as one with" The Ohillagoe and Etheridge of Act. Railways Act of 1918,"* herein referred to as the Principal A c t. . 2. In subsection one of section six of the Principal Amendment Act, all words from and including the words "provided of B. 6 as follows" to the end of the subsection are repealed and the following provision is inserted in lieu thereof: .- (c) To acquire, whether by purchase or lease or on tribute or on a royalty basis, any mine or mining lands the ore won from which, in the opinion of the Government, will further the profitable carrying on of the business referred to in paragraph (b) hereof, and to open Ull, work, and develop such mine or mining lands, and deliver the ore obtained therefrom to the smelters and works aforesaid: Provided that no expenditure in excess of one hundred * 9 Geo. 9602 RAILWAYS. Chillagoe ,and Etheridge Railways, &c., Act. 11 GEO. V. No. 7, 1920. - thousand pounds shall be incurred for the objects referred to in this paragraph except with the previous approval of Parliament, or an Act, or of a resolution of both Houses thereof. The proviso to subsection two of the said section is repealed and the following provision is inserted in lieu thereof :- Any further expenditure necessary for giving full effect to the provisions of subsection one of this section shall be defrayed out of moneys to be from time to time appropriated'by Parliament for the purpose. •
