Children, Youth and Families Further Amendment Regulations 2018
The Lieutenant-Governor as the Governor's deputy, with the advice of the Executive Council, makes the following Regulations:

1Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Children, Youth and Families Regulations 2017 to prescribe the class of persons who will be mandatory reporters for the purposes of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005.
2Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 600 of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005.
3Commencement
These Regulations come into operation on 3 October 2018.
4Principal Regulations
In these Regulations, the Children, Youth and Families Regulations 2017[1] are called the Principal Regulations.
5Definitions
In regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations insert the following definitions—
"out of home care worker means a person employed or engaged (other than on a voluntary basis) by an out of home care service—
(a)as a carer for children; or
(b)as a provider of services to carers for children or the children in their care;
school counsellor means a person employed or engaged (other than on a voluntary basis) to provide direct support to school students, at or directly connected with a school, for mental, emotional or psychological wellbeing;".
6Prescribed classes of mandatory reporter
After regulation 13 of the Principal Regulations insert—
"13A Prescribed classes of mandatory reporter
For the purposes of section 182(1)(l) of the Act, the following classes are prescribed—
(a)out of home care workers;
(b)school counsellors;
(c)youth justice custodial workers.".
